Admission Requirements

Academic Qualification
Applicants should normally possess a bachelor degree in science, engineering, business or other related fields from a well-established university or equivalent qualifications. Students should have taken courses in Computer Programming, Linear Algebra, and Calculus. Selection will be made on the basis of official academic transcripts and supporting documents to demonstrate English proficiency.
Students with no prior knowledge of Computer Programming, Linear Algebra, and Calculus may be accepted into the Programme on condition that they complete these courses satisfactorily before commencement of the MSC Programme. They may make up for these deficiencies by attending and passing the summer remedial courses offered by UIC at their own expense, or provide evidence, acceptable to the Programme Management Committee, that they have satisfactorily completed these courses.

English language Proficiency Requirement
If the medium of instruction for the applicant’s bachelor’s degree was not English, then the applicant is required to demonstrate his/her English proficiency by one of the following:
• An IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0;
• A TOEFL score of at least 537 (paper-based) or 74 (Internet-based);
• Other equivalent qualifications (e.g. CET-6 score of at least 450).
Conditional acceptance may be given to students who failed to meet the English language proficiency requirement. They need to achieve the above mentioned level of English proficiency before commencement of the Programme.

Other Requirements
Applicants may be required to attend an interview for further assessment of their suitability for the Programme.
