Housing benefits will be provided to a staff member as specified in his/her Letter of appointment/terms of service and subject to regulations governing the different forms of housing benefits.

Education Allowance

Education Allowance is only provided for staff who served at UIC more than one year

Special Allowance

Special allowance is granted to recognize individuals who have to shoulder additional duties normally related to special assignments/projects/development activities for an extended period of time.

The special allowance will be provided on a monthly basis for a specified period of not more than 12 months.

Administrative staff or teaching staff below rank of lecturer would be accordingly entitled to the following leave benefits:

2.7 Free Allocatioin Period (FAP)

 1. Objective

To enhance the leave entitlement of eligible teaching staff members and to encourage their conduct of scholarly activities, the College is to implement a Free Allocation Period (FAP) Scheme (hereinafter shall refer as the Scheme) effective 2 July 2014. The FAP Scheme serves dual purposes: (i) to assist the three Divisions and other Course Offering Units[1] in staff administration; and, (ii) to facilitate the eligible teaching staff members in their planning of activities during the designated period.

2. Eligibility for the Scheme

2.1 Full-time teaching staff members who satisfy the following conditions are eligible for the Scheme (hereinafter shall refer as eligible members):

(i) To be appointed at the rank of lecturer or above on or after 2 July 2014; and

(ii) To be in service at the end of a semester of an academic year.

2.2 Members of Senior Management (for example, Deans of Divisions) are INELIGIBLE for the Scheme.
