What is Inter-Library Loan (ILL)?

Generally speaking, ILL is a service by which a user of one library can borrow books or receive photocopies of documents that are owned by another library.

UIC students and staff members may submit requests for journal articles and books which are not owned by LRC from other libraries.

How to use ILL?

Fill in ILL Request Form and click "Send". You’ll receive an e-mail reply within 4 working days. (This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

For faculty and staff:  20 articles free for each semester and ¥5 per additional request.

For students: ¥5.00 per article

User has to pay 1/3 of total cost incurred.

Librarians will acknowledge ILL request in 1 working day. Requests for articles will be finished within 4 working days. Requests for books will take a little longer time.

Articles found will be directly sent to the patron's e-mail account. When books requested are received from other libraries, an email will be sent to the patron to pick them up at the circulation desk. Loan period for each book is 20 days.
